The Oberpfaffenhofen site is characterized by the Galileo Control Center, from which the constellation of 28 Galileo satellites is controlled, the Galileo Competence Center located there, and DLR’s Institute for Communication and Navigation.

DLR GfR is preparing for the next generation of Galileo satellites and is adding another building to the control center infrastructure. DLR’s satellite navigation site and proximity to the special airport make Oberpfaffenhofen an ideal aerospace location with a wide range of future prospects.

In addition to the visit to the Galileo Control Center, the representative’s agenda also included the Institute for High Frequency Technology and Radar Systems, the Institute for Communication and Navigation, the Institute for Robotics and Mechatronics, and the DLR Earth Observation Center.
