DLR GfR as Gold Sponsor and exhibitor at the Munich Satellite Navigation Summit 2024
Three eventful days lie behind us, as the Munich Satellite Navigation Summit 2024 generated innovative ideas and inspiring discussions, in which we played an important role. In addition to numerous discussions, our Managing Director Rolf Kozlowski took part in a session on bridging the gap between research and the development of market-ready products.
This year’s Munich Satellite Navigation Summit, held from 20-22 March at the Alte Kongresshalle in Munich, Germany, was themed “GNSS MEETS FRIENDS IN NEW ORBITS – POTENTIAL AND SYNERGIES!” and focused on the evolving landscape of satellite navigation. The growing importance of mega constellations in low Earth orbit opens up many new opportunities, which were discussed in stimulating debates with global leaders, industry experts and innovators.
In addition to the many interesting sessions, we were a Gold Sponsor and exhibitor with a stand.

On the last day of the eventful Summit, our Managing Director Rolf Kozlowski participated in Session 8 ‘Munich Flashlights – News from Bavaria’, moderated by Bärbel Deisting of bavAIRia e.V. and Katharina A. Lutz of the DLR Galileo Competence Centre (GK). The session put the spotlight on Bavarian pioneers in GNSS research and discussed topics ranging from basic research, future navigation concepts and sensor fusion to innovative antenna and receiver designs that translate research into concrete applications. The speakers gave an insight into their cutting-edge research, possible applications of their work and their visions for the future of positioning, navigation and timing.

Rolf Kozlowski
Rolf Kozlowski’s presentation focused on the most important issue: bridging the gap between research and the development of market-ready products. Kozlowski pointed out that bridging this gap requires a lot of time, effort, energy and financial investment. With the largest European space project, Galileo, in which we are at the forefront, we are actively engaged and focused on bringing together a wide range of scientific partners to create synergies and effectively bridge this gap.
This year’s Munich Satellite Navigation Summit was once again an excellent forum for us to engage with industry experts, drive innovative ideas and help shape the future of satellite navigation. Thanks to the valuable discussions and contributions of Rolf Kozlowski and other experts, we were able to provide important impetus and underline our pioneering role in GNSS research and development.
We would like to thank all the participants who contributed to this inspiring Summit and look forward to the next Munich Satellite Navigation Summit to continue to push the boundaries of satellite navigation and develop innovative solutions for the future.
